UPDATE - Stomping the Search Engines 2 and the Net Effect

September 3rd, 2008

UPDATE - 2 pm EST Thursday September 4

Due to technical difficulties (that beginners almost never have to worry about), it didn’t happen today as you surely know if you were waiting to get Stomping the Search Engines 2. But that may be a benefit because you’ll get some things that weren’t included in the original offer. Keep at it.

5:30 pm EST September 3 (TODAY)

—>  Stomping the Search Engines 2   <—

Everybody and her sister is telling you that you gotta have Stomping the Search Engines 2, and that it’s FREE! Well, what can I say - I agree it could be a big help to you. And the price is right. So I’m recommending that you get this package.

Just remember: it actually is NOT free, you have to pay some shipping and handling fee, plus you have to sign up for a free trial to a monthly subscription to the Net Effect. That could cost you $39/month unless you cancel in 30 days. If you don’t like the Net Effect or you just don’t want it for whatever reason - CANCEL.

Get it !

Good luck and good day.

FREE SEO Videos

SEO The Sorcerer’s Art

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a mystery to newbies (and not-so newbies too). These FREE videos will help you get off the ground on this subject. Part of the reason for the mysterious nature of SEO is that the seach engine companies don’t like to tell anyone how they’re doing it. And they don’t like to tell anyone when they change how they’re doing it.

Their Computers Read Your Web Pages

The basic idea is that search engines are dumb like computers so software engineeers like those at Yahoo and Google try to figure out what the content of a web page is without actually reading it. What? You thought actual humans were reading all the bazillion web pages on the internet?

Is It Important?

The software "crawls" your web page for clues as to what’s on it. Why is that important? Because the search engines use that information to rank your web page and only the highest ranked pages show up on page 1 when someone does a search.

"O" Yes

SEO tries to "optimize" the information on your web page so search engines will like what they find, and hopefully give it a high rank, and therefore, a page 1 display. The FREE videos will help you understand what the search engines are looking for and how you can make it easier for them to find and rank your web pages.

PS If you really like this stuff and want to become a SEO Sorcerer’s Apprentice, join SEOBook.com. You can get some FREE tools just for starting a FREE account. If you are REALLY serious about this stuff, the premier training only costs $100/month. "Only"? I’m not there yet, but maybe you are.

Article Generator Mayhem

August 3rd, 2008

200 Unique Articles in 14 Seconds ???

Do you really think that you can generate 200 unique articles in 14 seconds from one single article? Well, you can’t. What you can do is futz around with synonyms and phrase inversions using a dictionary and a thesaurus to make it seem that each article is somehow distinctly different from all the rest. But all the articles are essentially the same, meaning that the actual cognitive content is identical.

Who Is the Author?

It isn’t you! I think it is unethical to let a computer program generate article content for you and then claim that you wrote the article with the implication that you are some sort of expert on the topic of the article. I know some internet marketers are not troubled by that, but I feel that it is dishonest. Especially if they are selling you the content and you think they wrote it. They probably didn’t write the original article either. Even if they are giving it away and your only connection with it is reading it, you still got scammed because you were misled about authorship (unless, of course, they tell you that the article was manipulated by a computer program).

WARNING !

I strongly recommend against using any word replacement software based on dictionary and thesaurus substitutions for generate faux uniqueness. Google has this tactic figured out already, and it isn’t worth your reputation to be caught in this particular trap.

Internet Marketing Sins - Hate Mail and Fan Mail

August 2nd, 2008

We Have Encountered a  S u r r e a l  New World Here

I’ve set some kind of record today, which I hope demonstrates my honesty in a surreal sort of way.

Flying Emails

I wanted to make sure that you would be dealing directly with Sylvie Fortin if you wanted to send her an email so I tested her email link before I gave Internet Marketing Sins my highest recommendation. Made sense to me but it turned out that we had a bit of a heated exchange - she can be very direct if you haven’t noticed yet.

I won’t reproduce our entire email exchange because I am practicing to become a gentleman, and Sylvie Fortin is a nice lady.

Hate Mail?

Part of my email is cited as Hate Mail! Go HERE and scroll down to "Email From E". You’ll find my hate mail there. I’ll leave to you to judge the hateful quality of it.

Fan Mail!

Now here is where it gets surreal. Go HERE and scroll down to "As Seen On eMarketWorks.com". My blog post is cited as Fan Mail! (And my thanks to Sylvie Fortin for the link to emarketworks.com.)

Truth or Truthiness?

How can it be that I’m cited for both Hate Mail and Fan Mail? Maybe that is the price of honesty. You be the judge of that.

The bottom line is that, despite the sometimes crude language, Internet Marketing Sins will give you excellent insights into the internet scammers’ tactics so you won’t be taken in by them.

Internet Marketing Sins

July 31st, 2008

Had enough marketing BS yet?

  • Are you pissed off by the unethical and even illegal marketing tactics that assault you every day?
  • Do you get the urge to do bodily harm to internet marketers using these tactics on you?
  • Don’t even know what these tactics are and how to recognize them?

Internet Marketing Sins shines the light

Sylvie Fortin calls these tactics "sins" and she explains them in clear understandable, but strong, language. You won’t have a problem recognizing yourself, how badly you’ve been treated (and perhaps how you have treated others?).

This is a MUST READ for Newbies

I think it is especially important for newbie beginners in internet marketing to learn to recognize and avoid these tactics, and that is why I seriously urge you to read this revealing report.

You probably already realize that you’ve been scammed by one or more of these tactics, but Internet Marketing Sins lays it all out systematically and comprehensively. I feel so strongly about this that I’ve added Internet Marketing Sins to the Recommended page.

Hammerhead Marketing

I think most of you will have an emotional and personal reaction to Sylvie’s description of getting hammered. I clearly recognized myself as the dreamer in the description of the hammerhead marketing tactic. Maybe you will too.

30 Day Challenge with Ed Dale

July 29th, 2008

One of the internet guys I trust is Ed Dale. So I don’t have any hesitancy in recommending him to you.

He is offering FREE training for absolute beginners (and you might learn something if you are not an absolute beginner) that he calls the 30 Day Challenge.

My advice to you is simple: Take the 30 Day Challenge !!!

It doesn’t cost you anything except the time it takes you to learn and apply what you need to know to make your first $10 online. OK, so $10 isn’t going to make you rich. But what you learn just might get you feeling comfortable about heading in that direction.

Just go do it.

My Last Word on Automatic Income System

July 28th, 2008

I undid it

I don’t know if you remember that I started this particular adventure with "Ed, don’t tell me you bought another one of these things." Yeah, I did.

As I worked through the system, I found that I could not view important videos on my Mac. Michael Cheney’s support desk wasn’t any help with that. So the product should have been labelled from the first as a Windows product.

So I did what I’ve been advising you to do with any product that doesn’t live up to your expectations. I got a refund.

PLR Dump

PLR (private label rights) means that YOU didn’t write the ebook or produce the video, or make whatever the product happens to be. Some of the products in this package are PLR pass-throughs and not Michael Cheney’s products.

Personally I don’t like passing off someone else’s work as my own. Probably my science background holding me back.

Despite my personal view on this, a flourishing PLR industry exists and a lot of people sell PLR products on the premise that you will resell it and make your money that way. What they generally leave out is all the work you have to do to be successful at this strategy.

"Automatic" - Not

The advertising sales pitch for this product overhyped the potential to generate "automatic" income. It turns out that you have to do a helluva lot of work, not the least of which is build an online reputation, before anything even close to automatic income materializes.

I’m not dissing work. Work is good. The "internet life style" takes a lot of work. I’m knocking the sales pitches that claim to minimize or even eliminate the work required to make money.

Remember, no matter what they want you to believe, it’s their day job. All the internet marketing "gurus" I know worked for years to get where they are today. And they are working pretty hard to stay where they are.

Still want to Start Your Profits Today?

Here’s my sales pitch to you if you think Michael Cheney has a better product for newbies (I think he does and it costs $97, not $497). The product is called Start Your Profits Today.

Click that link and you get 8 FREE videos to help you decide if Start Your Profits Today is just what you need to get your internet money making venture off the ground.

Oh, and that Today part? Be realistic, it’s not happening for beginners in one day no matter what anybody says. But you can get started today.

In any case, I think you’ll find the FREE videos helpful.

PS When you click the link to Start Your Profits Today, you will be taken to a "squeeze page", which means that you have to enter your name and email address to get to the FREE videos. For the name part, I always enter just my first name (and sometimes I make up a name - don’t tell on me - autoresponders don’t know who you are). You can always Unsubscribe from Michael Cheney’s autoresponder whenever you wish.

Softcore Copywriting? Terry Dean and Shaune Clarke Reveal Indirect Persuasion

July 14th, 2008

Copywriting is the text you write or the words you say that lead a prospective customer to buy something. You’ve heard this I’m sure, "People hate to be sold, but they love to buy." People buy because they want to. So …

Does good copywriting have to be hardcore?

I’m sure you know from your own experience that the big problem with the copywriting you’ve been told you must use is the hyped up style that makes you sound like a used car salesmen on amphetamines.

If you are like me, you don’t want to use copywriting that amounts to beating people with a stick to get them to buy something.

Maybe there’s a better way!

Finally, Terry Dean and Shaune Clarke tell YOU how YOU can create better sales copy without hype.

Give ‘Gentle Persuasion’ a Try

Discover how to gently persuade your customers to buy by emotionally connecting with them without gimmicks, exaggeration, or swipe files.

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll discover:

- How to quietly lower sales resistance.

- Tap into the deepest dominant emotions in the market
in 30 minutes or less.

- Install multiple layers of assumptions subtly about
your product directly into your target audience’s mind.

- Authentic ways to use big names and other forms
of indirect credibility into your copy.

- 4 "Generic" forms of resonance that plug-and-play
in any market.

Terry Dean , the "godfather of internet marketing", interviews Shaune Clarke to reveal their secrets of "graceful persuasion" copywriting.

Indirect Persuasion Audio and Transcript for $10 with 30 day money-back guarantee, followed by a OTO of “35 Easy Internet Profit Multipliers” for $35 with 90 day money-back guarantee.

What You Get

For $10 you get immediate download of an audio interview of approximately 70 minutes and a PDF transcript of the interview: "Sell More Without Hype: Indirect Persuasion Secrets Revealed."

If you decide to buy, you will be offered "35 Easy Internet Profit Multipliers" . You do not have to buy that (I passed on it).

You will also get plenty of links in the PDF if you really like these guys and want to be more involved with them.

Secrets Revealed?

Generally speaking, I hate marketing phrases like "Secrets Revealed." I don’t think they reveal actual industrial "secrets". But it’s a secret to you if you don’t know it, right? In any case, they’ll only continue to be secrets to those who don’t listen to the audio.
