I've been working through Chris Farrell's Chris Mentor Me course and I find the course valuable for newbies. However, I have a quibble with the sales promotion for this course.

Guarantee – Make Money in Six Weeks or Double Your Purchase Price Back

Like me, you might be enticed to give this course a try since Chris Farrell is promising that you will make money or else he will refund twice the $997 cost of the course to you. That sounds worth a try doesn't it?

What's the Trick?

In week 3 of the course, if you have succeeded in following the directions, you have created a sales page and it is live online. Now Chris Farrell tells you to test the sales process by asking your friends and family to buy the $1 product you created or more likely the done-for-you PLR product Farrell has created for you. So your Mom buys your ebook for $1 and Chris Farrell is off the hook for your refund! You made money in six weeks or less.

There is no further use for this sales page in the remaining course segments, which strongly implies that it's main purpose is to ensure that Farrell doesn't have to give anyone taking the course double their money back. So if you decide that Chris Mentor Me is for you, forget about the refund guarantee and write off that $997. I guess that is some incentive to work through the course diligently hoping you will eventually be able to recoup the cost.

Another Quibble or Two

The sales promotion for the course would lead you to believe that at the end of six weeks, if you have done all the work, you will be making "mortgage payment money." Shortly after the course starts, however, and you have already paid $997 with no prospect of getting a refund, Chris Farrell goes to great lengths to convince you the course isn't really about making money – it's all about understanding the PROCESS! Suddenly, your dream of "mortgage payment money" gets a lot less real.

My quibble with Chris Farrell's sales approach, which is nearly ubiquitous with internet marketers, is the failure to disclose significant information that you need to know to make an intelligent buying decision. Invariably these marketers spring some surprise on you after you have purchased their product. And then they claim that you should have seen it coming if you only paid closer attention to their sales pitch, which in most cases is demonstrably false.

In the case of Chris Mentor Me, there is no possible way you could have known that one of your family members or friends was going to nullify the guarantee by helping you out with a $1 purchase.

Summation

If you are a newbie beginner (redundant I know) or an intermediate marketer who needs a refresher, buy this course for the hand-holding teaching approach that guides you step by step in setting up an online sales process, and write off the cost on your tax return as business training. If you can't afford to spend $997, look elsewhere for less expensive training.

PS If I hear one more internet marketing guru tell me how much he/she is "over-delivering", I'm going to gag. I think I should be the one deciding if you over-delivered. It makes me suspicious when you keep telling me how you are over-delivering. I paid pretty good money for what you are delivering.

Income Kick Start starts at $497 – You have 10 days to request a refund if you are not happy with it, But …

Give it a try if you have the funds and 9 days to experiment. Anik Singal in the marketing pitch for this program suggest that you can get started in 3 hours. OK we all know marketing hype by now. Just don't expect to start in 3 hours if you are a newbie because …

You can't "Start within 3 Hours"

Unless you already know what you are doing, are an experienced affiliate marketer, and just need access to the niches that Income Kick Start provides for $497, you won't be up and running in 3 hours. But that's not the only thing that bugged me.

Internet Marketers think they are teachers

I know we like to say that those who can't do it, teach it. But in reality teaching is a profession and it really doesn't matter whether a great teacher can do what they teach. The only thing that matters is that the teacher teaches YOU how to do it.

Anik is not a great teacher as you will see in the videos. On the other hand, he has a tremendous amount of company from other internet marketers who think they can teach because they have made a lot of money. Sorry about that – it ain't true. Your egos are getting in the way again. So you will have to rely on getting great support to answer all the questions you will have after absorbing the material Anik presents. Now comes another problem.

Support is not as bad as Copy Paste Systems but it isn't that great either

First you have to know that in one of his videos about using Scriptlance, Anik says he won't work with a freelancer who doesn't respond to him within 24 hours. While I was trying out the first 2 weeks of the Income Kick Start system, I submitted several support tickets on February 4. Guess when I got the first response – February 9, which is 5 times longer than Anik would have waited.
But it got worse.

Does the support team understand English?

I think there is a difference between being able to read English and understanding it. Most of the responses I received were about 1 sentence long no matter what questions I had. Often they don't read the entire message that may have more than 1 question so you have to keep the ticket open and send another reply. Of course it could also be that the support team doesn't completely understand the product they are supporting.

But what really irks me is they don't seem to understand English well enough to understand the intent of the questions and give answers that would be enlightening to newbies. Chances are you will have to rephrase and resubmit your question more than once to get a satisfactory explanation.

Do you call that "support"? Maybe it gets better after they are sure they have your money. I don't know – I didn't stick around for that part. After experimenting with Income Kick Start, I think I can use the $497 more effectively elsewhere.

Anik Singal is a nice person and Affiliate Classroom is a nice website

From all the second hand information I've gathered, Anik is a really nice person. All my information is second hand because Anik has effectively insulated himself from direct contact. But so have the majority of rich internet marketers. They just want your money, not to talk to you. I was disappointed that Income Kick Start support would not tell me how to contact Anik. He really needs help with his teaching skills.

The Law of Attraction

You’ve probably heard of the Law of Attraction. This is the idea that you attract what you think about. If you really want something and truly believe it’s possible, you’ll get what you want – or the idea that your thoughts determine (not influence, but determine) how your life goes. Think positive and positive things happen to you. Think negative and … OK so much for the BS.

The Law of Distraction

This law really works. If you think you are going to make big bucks in internet marketing or your home business by trying everything that comes along, you won’t. Simple, the Law of Distraction dictates that the more things you are trying to do, the more distracted you become and the less productive. You end up accomplishing nothing. Well, something – you kept yourself busy being distracted. And you aren’t going to make any money!

The Lesson

If you are constantly buying or trying the latest product launch, internet marketing ebook, home-based business opportunity, webinar, marketing course, coaching program, internet marketing scam, etc., and you have them stacked up like cord wood on your bookshelf and your computer is so full that it is about to throw up on your keyboard, you have become a victim of the Law of Distraction.

You’ll have a lot business ‘expenses’ and no business ‘income’.

I could not emphasize this too strongly because I know from experience. Try one thing, one program, one coach, and stick with that one thing until it works at least a little, or until you thoroughly understand why it doesn’t work for you.

In the process, you may find the kind of internet business that really fits you instead of squeezing yourself into a mold that doesn’t.
