I remember watching on TV when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech at the Mall in Washington DC. It was an incredibly stirring and intense experience. He reminded us of the ‘inalienable’ rights of all people simply by virtual of being human beings without regard to any other qualification. Other people spoke that day, but his speech is the only one I remember.
On this day especially and every day after, I hope that we resolve to treat people with respect and dignity in the spirit of Dr. King.
