How to Use OPM for Internet Marketing Success

A few weeks ago I got an unsolicited phone call from the staff of Russell Brunson, the famous internet marketer. It went like this.

The Screener - Gatekeeper 1

The first call was from a screener, a person who treats you nicely and asks some leading questions to see if you might be a candidate for the coaching program. If the screener decides that you are willing to "make the effort to be successful", the screener passes you on to a manager for more detailed investigation of your qualifications for the coaching program. To this point, no specific amount of money has been mentioned. The screener never wants scares you off with any specific dollar figure. But you are willing to invest some time and money aren’t you? "You sound like a good candidate for our program so I am going to have my manager call you and give you the details."

The Manager - Gatekeeper 2

The manager treats you nicely and pretends to be your friend for some fun conversation. This person explains what OPM is - Other People’s Money as if you won’t be spending you own money (Please don’t reveal this SECRET until the end of the story: OPM is generally a CREDIT CARD). Then you start talking turkey. Here’s the deal. For a measly $15,000, we are going to teach you how to be a successful internet marketer and we are going to hold your hand until you make your original investment back even if that takes … however, long it takes. And we want to get you up and running quickly so you can make a sufficient profit to pay the monthly bill on the OPM so you don’t have to use your own money (Please don’t reveal this SECRET until the end of the story: the profit you make to pay for the OPM is YOUR MONEY).

Sticker Shock

Whoa! $15,000! I’m just a newbie starting out and that’s not in my ballpark - yet. What? You don’t have $15,000 to invest in your brand new business? And you don’t want to charge $15,000 to your credit card so you can be a successful internet business person? (IMPLICATION: You don’t really want to have a successful internet business if you aren’t willing to invest $15,000 to BREAK EVEN BY THE END OF THE COACHING PROGRAM). Well, then how about less OPM? Here’s what we can do for $8,500 of OPM. Don’t like that either. Well, how much are you willing to invest in your own business (IMPLICATION: Why are you wasting my time when you aren’t willing to invest in your own business? Newbie Note - Sooner or Later

This scenario is real. The Russell Brunson Coaching Program may be a great one and just the thing to get you going if can afford the risk. I can’t advise you because I didn’t want to use OPM to join the program myself. Give it a try if you are so inclined. Please be aware, however, that this is a typical scenario that newbies should know about. If you keep trying to make money with internet marketing (you are persistent despite failure), sooner or later you are likely to get an offer like this.

How To Use Clickbank To Generate Monster Ongoing Profits

ClickBank is the Internet’s largest digital marketplace, where thousands of the web’s most popular products are sold every day.  

What what people don’t realize is how easy it is to get started with Clickbank and how you can start generating sales even if you have your own  product.

There are a few ways to do this.

1) Acquire Resale Rights to a product you don’t own, create an page for affiliates and supply them tools to promote and feed of their efforts.

2) Promote products as an affiliate using Pay per Click Search Engines

So which method is best?

I’ve successfully tried both methods, both with good results.

For the beginner I recommend promoting products as an affiliate to get used to how the system works and to help sharpen your pay per click search engine advertising skills.

Acquiring Resale Rights to a hot  selling product can be lucrative venture when set up correctly.

In fact I managed to generate over $25,764 in sales for a resale license I paid $197 for without spending a penny on advertising.

I was able to do this by leveraging Clickbank’s instant affiliate force which I teach in great depth in my new course Dominating CB.  

Once you have built a successful customer and lead list there are also several ways you can leverage this into even greater profits.

Clickbank is such an attractive proposition for affiliates to use. They know they are going to get paid twice per month and on  clockwork every time.  

Sometimes product owners complain that the fees are higher than the average merchant  account but the ability to leverage it’s massive network of affiliate can results in mega profits when done correctly.

What’s a Silver Bullet?

It’s basically a preconfigured website promoting a ClickBank product. You get all the files you need for your website including a "video squeeze page" to build your optin list, 2-page mini-site providing your prospects with free information, 5 email lessons, and the links you need to get paid when someone buys the product.

Of course, you need to have or set up a ClickBank account and that is where the money accumulates.

Example Blog Post

Your part of the deal is that you have to promote the preconfigured products you uploaded to your website(s), ASB provided the sample blog post that follows.

"One of the easiest and fastest way to make money online in through affiliate marketing. This is when you send visitors to someone else’s product sales page, they make the sale and deliver the product, and you get a percentage of the sale price as you commission (usually 50% or more for digital products).

The benefits of this are

1. You can get started almost immediately because you don’t have to create a product, write the sales page, design the website, develop marketing materials, or set up the ordering, billing & delivery system.

2. You have almost no investment of time because you don’t have to do the customer support or deal with billing or technical issues.

The downside is…

After all your hard work of generating traffic to the sales page, you will never see any of those visitors again. Most of them will not buy on their first visit, which means you’re losing over 90% of the traffic right off the top. And of the 10% or less that do buy, the product owner will be able to sell to them again, but you will not.

What’s the solution?

Simply put, you need to capture the name and email of your visitors *before* sending them to the product sales page. This way you can follow up with them and keep sending them back to the sales page to increase your chances of making the sale. And if you’re really on top of your game, you’ll then send to a pre-sales page in between. Here’s what these affiliate marketing strategies will do for you:

1. You’ll be building your own list of potential customers that you can market to again and again.

2. You’ll be pre-selling them by providing valuable information and then casually linking to the product sales page in the context of this information.

In order to set a system like this up, you will need the following affiliate marketing tools:

1. A Video Squeeze Page (with video)

2. One or more content-rich Pre-Selling Pages

3. At least a 5-Part Email Followup Series

The video squeeze page is where you’ll direct your traffic instead of directly to the product sales page. It captures the name and email of your visitors and puts them into your autoresponder, which then begins sending out the 5-part email series. Then it redirects them to your pre-selling pages after they subscribe to your email series. All of this together increases your chances of making the sale by up to 500% so it’s well worth the effort of setting it up. And once it’s set up, it runs automatically - you just keep sending visitors to the squeeze page. If you don’t have the time or expertise to set it all up yourself, you can use something like Affiliate Silver Bullet. Services like this design the enter system (the video, the video squeeze page, the email series, the content pages, etc). The benefit is that it’s much less expensive then you could do it yourself, and it’s instantly set up. The downside is that other people will be using the same affiliate tools as you. But the internet is pretty big, so this isn’t much of a concern. The other route you can take is to hire people on Elance to create and implement the various aspects for you. Either way, it’s an important step that you need to take if you’re going to be serious about your business."
